There is no artistry without an ability to understand one’s own emotions and one’s own quality, to create one’s own vision and to be able to present it with confidence to the public.

Piano playing is not all about the right notes or impressive speed of fingers. It’s about speaking a language that is called music. Many know the alphabet, few can write a poem.

Become one of those who can. Learn it and use this ability to show your personality, sensitivity and your strengths on the piano.

The true art lies in the intangible. This masterclass will help you grasp it, and will enrich you as a musician as well as human being.

Why this Masterclass?

The goal of this Masterclass is to make a difference in your life. To inspire you, to shake you, to help you unleash your potential. To make you understand what piano playing is all about. To give you the courage to grow and become better. To make you aware of the obstacles that might make your life as a pianist more difficult and how to manage them.
Who are the Masters?
Each Master of this Masterclass is different, yet they have a lot in common. They deeply care about music and musicality, they see a different approach to music education that is not standardised but personal and individual.

They are inspired and inspiring. They are passionate and they feel the need to pass this passion on to others. And most importantly, they all present the highest level of artistic achievement on their instrument and they are a valuable source of musical knowledge and wisdom.

Ingolf Wunder
“In the last decades the music education system successfully managed to remove musicality from music. It’s high time to bring it back.”
Started his pianistic journey late, at the age of 14, after quitting the violin. Had luck to be discovered by an openminded piano teacher who introduced the world of arts to him. One could describe him as a gifted hardworking outsider who loves challenges: he conquered Liszt’s repertory right away and after two years of playing the piano already performed Transcendental Etudes on stage. His breakthrough though came in 2010 in partnership with another composer – Chopin. || Pianist. Conductor. Composer. A fulfilled musician who puts arts and education on the pedestal. Co-founder of two educational platforms Appassio and Appassimo.

“Music teaching is about collaborative mentorship and creative partnership which would give students the freedom to make their own discoveries.”
Began his musical journey as a jazz percussionist. At 11 already was praised by Miles Davis for his virtuoso skills. Discovered by Ashkenazy and supported by Abbado, was signed to Decca at 17. Has performed with over 150 world class orchestras and conductors, with repertoire from Bach to Bacewicz. His teachers spoke about music poetically, in terms of colours, scents, and sounds, and so he shares this poetry in his playing and teaching. To create something in a moment that would stay in people’s memories for a long time is a privilege of which he is always aware. || Pianist. Composer. Co-founder of Karlskrona Intl. Piano Festival in Sweden.

“Over last decades education in the field of piano playing dramatically changed. Students hear about how it should sound, but they don’t get proper technical training. Majority of pianists I meet are experiencing some sort of technical issues  I fix it, but it is not a quick fix. It takes time. It needs long term commitment.”
Always curious of new experiences. Fearless in taking huge challenges. Traveled the world for more than 35 years, performed over 2500 concerts - solo, chamber, with orchestras, ballet groups, singers and other instruments. Collaborated also with  jazz pianists. Never limited to the same repertoire. Invited many times to be a part of huge, interdisciplinary projects such as ballet spectacles. || Pianist. Dedicated educator, proud of his successful students of all ages.

Masterclass
"4 Masters"
In order to make a tasty dish you need more than one good ingredient. To make sure the taste of the dish is not bland, you need the ingredients that are versatile in flavour. Music education is similar – you need input of several good but different people in order to compose a healthy pianistic path.

This Masterclass consists of 5 sessions and it is designed the way to bring you the most.

Four of the sessions are one-on-one, each with a different Master: you will work on different skills and will get to know different approaches. You will also learn what no one is willing to teach you or share with you.

The last fifth session is with all four Masters at the same time. This 1 final hour of the Masterclass is designed to be a cherry on the cake. Present yourself and your playing, and take part in an equal discussion on music and life of a pianist, which will help you deepen your musical understanding, open to new ideas, give food for thought and bring you an extra value to your pianistic journey.
